PwC's experts advise clients in this environment. | |
Healthcare service providers are confronted, on the one hand, with the radical changes seen in the market over the last few years and, on the other, with decisions on health policy. Together, these make planning for the long term considerably more difficult.

Training and further education
We have a core staff with many years of experience in the healthcare sector. In principle, all staff working with Healthcare attend a sector-oriented three-tier training programme and further education institute, and regularly take part in specialised training modules. Our training and further education is carried out by staff with experience in healthcare who also work as consultants for hospital federations, universities or other institutions. As well as chartered accountants, tax advisors and lawyers, our staff include IT specialists, nurses, physicians, technicians and experts in the areas of real estate and facility management.
Our industry contacts
In addition, we are active in associations such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants (IDW) or the Chamber of Chartered Accountants (WPK), and in the professional committees of the IDW (hospital technical committee). As well as sitting on various committees, we collaborate in the publishing of industry bulletins, and health policy meetings and congresses.
Our clients
For many years, we have been auditing and advising clinics in the emergency and rehabilitation sectors, as well as psychiatrists and care facilities of various agencies and legal forms. We currently act as annual auditors to around 240 hospitals in Germany. Of the 35 university clinics, 17 are audited by PwC.
Among our clients are corporate groups and major clinic chains, listed companies which prepare their balance sheets according to international statutory accounting requirements, as well as social services agencies (health insurance funds, pension funds, accident insurance funds, welfare associations etc), ministries and public agencies.
