Middle Eastern Business Group

Given the close proximity of the Middle East region to Europe, economic relationships between the Middle Eastern territories, Germany and the European Union have significantly grown over the last few years. This has been facilitated by a Free Trade Agreement with the GCC, and other agreements between MENA territories and Europe. Due to this, the EU has significantly strengthened its economic and political cooperation with the region.

Germany is leading Europe’s sales in the Middle East. In 2011, Germany exported goods with a value of Euro 42bn into the region. The most important destinations for German exports are the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

"The Middle East is a diverse market with an increasing importance for the global economy."
