Edition April 2021

Dear readers,

Light at the end of the tunnel − that's what we're all hoping for these days. According to our Global CEO Survey, 76 percent of CEOs in Germany already see this light and expect an increase in global economic growth in the upcoming year. But there is still a bumpy road ahead. The top three concerns of CEOs worldwide include overregulation, pandemics and cyberattacks. 83 percent of German CEOs worry about cyberattacks − and this concern is legitimate: 2020 was not only a year marked by COVID19, but also by quite a lot of ransomware attacks.

How can companies protect themselves against this danger? One thing is clear: successful defence begins with recognising the attack. How to prepare for a cyberattack in order to recognise attacks early and expel attackers − this is also the topic of one of our newsletter articles.

These are our five topics:

  • Cyber defence in seven minutes: the story of a foiled cyber attack
  • Making IoT devices more secure with scenario-based penetration tests
  • SAP security in hyperscaler environments
  • Tool-based cloud security: why automated testing of security settings is essential
  • Fines for data protection violations – a real danger or just a spectre?

We wish you an interesting reading!
