Deal Announcement 9/22: Industrial Products

PwC acted as exclusive financial advisor to the shareholders of Komet Irrigation, a leading manufacturer of highly efficient water distribution components for agricultural application, on entering a strategic growth partnership with Trill Impact, an ESG-focussed private equity impact investor

The Deal

The PwC M&A team is pleased to announce to have advised the shareholders of Komet Austria GmbH and its subsidiaries (“Komet Irrigation” or the “Company”) on entering a growth partnership with Trill Impact. Since Komet’s founding in 1952, the second-generation family business has made its mark on resource-efficient agriculture as a global supplier of irrigation components. The company manufactures high-quality sprinklers, regulators, and big volume guns in its state-of-the-art production facility in Austria. Komet’s innovative product portfolio focuses on increased water efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and ultimately crop yield increases, thereby addressing global challenges like water scarcity, a growing population, and an increased need for food security.

Together with Arno, Hugo and Viktor Drechsel and Komet’s experienced and highly motivated workforce, Trill Impact plans to further expand the international sales footprint to enter new markets and to continuously invest in innovation to introduce new solutions to the irrigation market. Arno, Viktor, and Hugo Drechsel will continue to guide the development of the company.

PwC M&A has run a structured, well-prepared, and highly competitive process with a timeline of only 7 weeks from the start of due diligence to signing of the definitive agreement, maintaining high momentum at all times.

The agreement was signed in July 2022 and consummated in August 2022.
