The chip crisis is still affecting the auto industry and is slowing down the necessary transformation. Felix Kuhnert, Partner and German Automotive Leader, and Thomas Steinberger, Partner and Business Recovery Services Leader, examine the crisis together with our PwC industry experts from Germany, the US, China and Japan from a global perspective, provide up-to-date insights and point out ways to make automotive supply chains more resilient. A recording of this engaging discussion from 26 January 2022, hosted by Michael Knauer, Automotive Editor of the industry newspaper Automobilwoche (Crain Communications), is available via the button below.
There are many huge technological innovations within the mobility sector. Artificial intelligence, more powerful and efficient energy storage systems and mobile communications infrastructure, digital platforms, and new legal frameworks will create a fundamentally new understanding and new experiences of individual and mass mobility at large. The automotive industry has been dramatically struck by this wave of transformation, and nowhere is this more evident than at the industry’s most important global trade fair. The IAA is transforming itself from a traditional automotive fair to a platform for integrated mobility of the future.
At PwC, our experts on mobility transformation, the automotive industry, sustainability consulting and the public sector develop solutions that help our clients successfully master transformation, which can often be highly disruptive. This year, PwC Germany is an official Cooperation partner of the IAA MOBILITY. The event will run from 7 September to 12 September 2021, with a mission to rethink mobility with innovators, decision-makers and founders. As this new mobility can only be future-proof if implemented sustainably, we are also Presenting Partner for the fair’s Sustainability Lounge. The lounge offers a central space for panel discussions and individual exchange of ideas.
The transformation is in full swing – from autonomous or shared driving and carsharing to new regulations and changing infrastructure. But what about the mobility of the future?
