Digital Services Act

1. Contact point for users of PwC’s digital services and for public authorities

PwC offers clients within the EU digital services that fall within the scope of the Digital Services Act (hereinafter DSA). Users of such digital services from PwC, as well as authorities, can contact the responsible office at PwC directly to report illegal content. If illegal content is reported to PwC by users, it will be checked as quickly as possible and the reported content will be removed or deleted if it is found to be illegal.

2. Notification and redress procedure for illegal content in accordance with Art. 16 DSA

2.1 Reporting illegal content

Users can report illegal content via our reporting form. The report must contain all necessary information to enable an examination, including a description of the content and the reason for the assumption of illegality.

2.2  Review and measures

PwC will review each report promptly. If the reported content is classified as unlawful, PwC will take appropriate measures, such as removing the content or blocking the user. The reporting user will be informed of the result once the review has been completed.

3. Objection proceedings

3.1 Submission of an objection

Users have the right to appeal against decisions to remove or block content.

3.2 Examination of the objection

PwC will review the objection and make a decision. The user will be informed of the outcome of the objection.

4. Transparency and reporting

PwC undertakes to publish information on the moderation of content, the removal of illegal content and other relevant measures once a year. This information is included as part of PwC’s annual transparency report, which is available on our website.

5. Protection of personal data

PwC processes personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations. PwC’s data protection information is available on our website. These also apply to the processing of personal data in connection with the reporting of content.

6. Terms

  • PwC refers to PricewaterhouseCoopers GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, all of its subsidiaries and affiliates operating subsidiaries and PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal Aktiengesellschaft Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft.
  • Digital Services Act (DSA) refers to Regulation 2022/2065 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022 on a single market for digital services and amending Directive 2000/31/EC (Digital Services Act).
  • Illegal content within the meaning of Article 3 (h) DSA is any information which, as such or by its reference to an activity, including the sale of products or the provision of services, does not comply with Union law or the law of a Member State, irrespective of the precise subject matter or nature of the legislation concerned.
  • Content moderation within the meaning of Art. 3 (t) DSA means the activities of providers of intermediary services, whether automated or not, aimed in particular at identifying, detecting and combating illegal content or information provided by users that is incompatible with the provider's terms and conditions, including measures relating to the availability, display and accessibility of the illegal content or information, such as downgrading, demonetisation, blocking access, or removal, or in relation to the ability users to provide such information, e.g. Closure or suspension of the account of a user.
