PwC M&A acted as exclusive financial advisor to HomeServe plc on the sale of HomeServe GmbH to WERTGARANTIE Group
The Deal
PwC M&A advised HomeServe plc, one of the leading providers of home emergency and repair services in Europe, on the sale of HomeServe GmbH to WERTGARANTIE Group.
In spring 2015, the management of HomeServe plc decided to initiate a sales process for its German subsidiary. Founded in 2011, HomeServe GmbH has developed at a slower pace than alternative investment opportunities of HomeServe plc. The agreement to sell HomeServe GmbH was closed in September 2015.
With a focus on home assistance services to homeowners in Germany, the acquisition of HomeServe GmbH will enable WERTGARANTIE Group to broaden its service portfolio and penetrate the German market for home assistance covers.
HomeServe GmbH
HomeServe GmbH is the German subsidiary of HomeServe plc. The company is a growing provider for home assistance services for German homeowners, headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany. HomeServes’ products include home assistance covers for domestic applications (sanitary, water, sewage, gas, electric heating). The company partners with several renowned energy providers and a well-established network of tradesmen in order to distribute its products and services to homeowners.
WERTGARANTIE Group
WERTGARANTIE Group with its insurers WERTGARANTIE AG (WERTGARANTIE) and European Warranty Partners SE (EWP) is a leading provider of customized warranty services with a focus on consumer electronics, household appliances, bicycles and finally - with the third insurer AGILA AG - on pet insurance solutions.
