The Electric Vehicle Sales Review (EVSR) continuously analyses the global EV market. This series of studies shows how market shares, powertrains and segment developments are changing worldwide – based on easily comparable quarterly data.

Methodology and data

The report is based on data for new registrations in 43 international markets that are gathered according to uniform criteria and standardised to ensure comparability. The analysis covers all types of electrified powertrains – BEVs, PHEVs and HEVs – as well as their market shares, growth rates and regional differences. It also incorporates information on price and value trends, as well as dynamics in the used-BEV market. To provide a consistent and robust picture of global EV developments, the report combines official registration data, manufacturer figures and market observations.
