Develop, orchestrate and scale AI agents faster

Agent‑driven AI systems are transforming the world of work. They unlock a wholly new level of automation and support – even for complex tasks. This shift brings new divisions of roles and collaboration models: machines increasingly handle execution, while people provide oversight and creative direction. To transform business processes effectively and responsibly, however, you need the right framework. That is precisely why PwC has developed Agent OS – an orchestration platform for AI workflows. It accelerates the development, orchestration and scaling of AI agents by composing them into reusable workflows on a central platform.

“With Agent OS, we can now support organisations even more effectively in transforming their business processes and preparing for the future of work.”

Agent OS – the orchestration solution for AI agent workflows

As an enterprise‑grade solution for agent orchestration, Agent OS unifies all AI initiatives across your enterprise. It turns disparate AI use cases into integrated workflows that deliver tangible business value within a matter of weeks. In this way, AI can realise its full potential – whether to boost operational efficiency, enhance quality or create new customer experiences. This “operating system” for agents is ideally suited to driving AI transformation across all sectors and business functions.

“With Agent OS, we deliver scalable, secure AI solutions for our clients that create tangible impact and drive business performance.”

Agent‑driven decision‑making with humans in control

The future of work lies in the skilful coupling of agents that execute tasks with people who shape the context and apply AI capabilities in innovative ways. Agent OS is therefore not designed merely to cut costs or headcount. Beyond efficiency gains, the focus is on new avenues of value creation – enabled by employees collaborating with AI agents in creative, novel ways. With Agent OS, you can quickly and easily set up enterprise‑wide workflows that combine AI steps with human checkpoints.

“Humans will not be rendered obsolete by AI agents, but their roles and responsibilities will evolve. Agent OS provides the tools to establish and thoughtfully shape new AI‑enabled ways of working.”

Key features of Agent OS

Vendor‑agnostic platform

Whether Azure, Azure Government, AWS or otherwise, Agent OS runs on all mainstream platforms, addressing the diverse cloud requirements of organisations across every sector. The platform also enables integration with existing AI agent frameworks such as Langgraph and CrewAI. AI solutions from platforms including Copilot, Joule and LlaMA can be registered with Agent OS and made available via a central repository. This makes Agent OS an overarching orchestration layer that helps meet, among other things, key requirements of the EU AI Act.

Modularity and reusability

Agent OS simplifies the systematic build‑out of AI solutions through its modular design. Each workflow is composed of agents, which in turn are defined by specific capabilities (skills), processing objectives (intents) and communication options. All core components of these workflows are reusable and can be readily adapted to different use cases across the organisation. Functional blocks from existing AI use cases registered on the platform can be assembled like building blocks into new, bespoke processes – interconnected, centrally managed, logged and monitored.

Intuitive for business and development teams

Agent OS supports the creation of prompts, skills, intents, agents and workflows both through an intuitive user interface and via a software development kit (SDK). This fosters broad adoption by enabling business users and development teams to work on the same platform. Components defined in code can be imported directly into the graphical user interface (GUI).

Multi‑LLM support

Agent OS uses a flexible Language State Machine to govern agent behaviour via defined states and transitions. It supports both one‑to‑one mapping (one LLM per agent) and multi‑LLM systems. In the latter, at each transition to the next state, the LLM best suited to the task – based on the data available at that step – is invoked. This enables the system to handle even highly complex tasks.

Recursive workflows

Agent OS is built on a recursive, graph‑based approach. This enables you to tackle highly complex, enterprise‑wide tasks composed from simpler workflows. By applying robust abstraction principles, it keeps complexity under control. The technology is patent‑pending.

Ecosystem‑driven evolution

To advance Agent OS, we continuously scan the AI ecosystem and evaluate new frameworks, approaches and architectural principles. The roadmap is reviewed and updated in iterative cycles. Technical concerns are largely decoupled from business, domain‑specific content, enabling components to be swapped out without requiring wholesale rework of workflows.
