Collaborating Globally for Digital Public Good

We see open source technology as a fundamental enabler of public sector innovation, reaching far beyond transparency and security. Open source grants public institutions complete control over their source code, enabling independent audits and modifications without vendor lock-in. Furthermore, it fosters international collaboration, allowing foundational technologies and previous efforts to be effectively reused. This is especially relevant in the field of artificial intelligence, where transparent access to models, training data, and documentation is essential for building trust, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enabling adaptability.

This approach ensures taxpayer money is efficiently invested, delivering proven digital solutions at scale. By openly sharing resources, expertise, and best practices, open-source technologies significantly enhance both the quality and efficiency of public-sector digital solutions.

“Open source technology ensures public sector innovation is sustainable, economically efficient, and creates positive impact—for citizens and the public servants.”
