Safely fulfil your due diligence obligations with PwC's Managed Services

Safely fulfil your due diligence obligations under the SCDDA & CSDDD

Our Managed Services for SCDDA and CSDDD provide you with comprehensive support in complying with regulatory requirements. These include reviewing the entire supply chain for human rights and environmental violations and ensuring that companies fulfil appropriate due diligence obligations. This allows you to avoid financial risks and damage to your reputation while strengthening the trust of customers and business partners.

We systematically identify and assess risks within your business partner portfolio. This allows us to rigorously identify high-risk business partners. For our analyses, we use recognised index data at product, sector and country level and employ media analyses in various languages as well as certificate checks. We send standardised and customisable questionnaires to high-risk business partners and evaluate their responses. On request, we also validate the supporting documents provided by business partners, thereby enabling proactive risk management. To comply with reporting requirements, we create audit-proof documentation of the analysis. Thanks to the multi-client capability of the service, individual reports can be easily generated for several subsidiaries.

All packages offer detailed documentation

Detailed risk reporting is a central component of all packages. All you need to do is provide us with the necessary business partner data and you will receive a clear report within a very short time. This report contains information on high-risk business partners at a minimum, as well as a list of country and industry risks. In addition, the results of the certificate and media analysis are also included. The report can be further customised as required. Each service package builds on the previous one by offering additional services while retaining all previously included services. Good to know: Even the smallest package provides a solid foundation for effectively integrating risk management and compliance into your business processes.

Overview of the service packages

The Service Package S includes macroeconomic country and sector analyses of business partners based on location and industry, as well as the evaluation of information from the media. As part of the Service Package S, we also check relevant certificates and benchmarks. Based on these analyses, you will receive a clear report on business partners who are associated with a high risk within a very short time.

Service Package M includes all the services of Package S. This option also includes additional data collection. For business partners whose legal positions have been identified as conspicuous, we create a modular questionnaire with specific questions. We send this to the business partners concerned and take care of following up on the responses.

The Service Package L offers all the content of the S and M packages. In addition, we offer a risk assessment with a relevance analysis for prioritising business partners as well as a results report. To this end, we evaluate influence and causation, taking into account severity, probability and reversibility. There are two options available: either we conduct a workshop with you in which we carry out the assessment together, or we assess according to your individual specifications.

The Service Package XL includes all the services offered in the S, M and L packages. In addition, we develop preventive and corrective measures and provide reporting. You specify the criteria for selecting the measures. We maintain the measures, draft a BAFA report and send the report.

Additional challenges? No problem!

For specific challenges that go beyond the standard services, we offer additional services upon your request. For example, you can request the analysis of additional business partner data or specific queries regarding sustainability agreements.

Safely fulfil your due diligence obligations under the EUDR

With our Managed Services and service-as-a-software offerings (SaaSO) for implementing the EUDR, we offer comprehensive support in every phase of the due diligence process – from data collection and risk analysis to reporting and the preparation of due diligence statements (DDS). For both services, the technical basis is the EUDR module of our "Check Your Value Chain" software for automated risk analysis at product, transaction and business partner level.

As part of our managed services, you not only purchase the software, but we also support you in operating this – so that you can concentrate on your core business. We offer you a standardised but flexibly customisable system setup that integrates seamlessly into your existing IT infrastructure. As part of our SaaSO services, we create detailed, individually configurable reports for you in the shortest possible time. We offer comprehensive risk analyses, legality checks and reporting on your business partners, products and transaction risks.

In both services, data collection includes not only your data but also the option of sending product data requests to your suppliers for each transaction, including reminders and setting deadlines. We manage the responses and assess the EUDR compliance of your business partners. We carry out legality checks as well as macroeconomic, deforestation and media risk analyses. We use precise satellite data to validate deforestation risks, while comprehensive product analysis based on HS codes ensures complete transparency at the product level. In addition, we offer you a SaaSO service that provides media analysis of your business partners to ensure that you are always informed about the latest developments within your supply chain.

When we identify risks, we send out targeted supplier questionnaires to gather relevant information on deforestation and EUDR risk positions. We then check for possible deforestation risks and review certificates and documents for plausibility to minimise false alarms. Together with you, we determine and implement effective risk mitigation measures in line with your compliance requirements. To ensure compliance, we offer a supplier-specific legality check as an additional SaaSO service, in which the documents and evidence provided by suppliers are validated in accordance with PwC's best practice standards. Within the reporting process, we create due diligence statements. As part of our managed services, we also transmit these to the EU information system TRACES. Comprehensive documentation and a clear audit trail give you access to reliable and compliant reports at all times.

Both service options can be flexibly adapted to your wishes, time and resource-specific circumstances.

Service models at a glance

PwC's SmartReport is aimed at companies with a minimal volume of EUDR-relevant products and transactions. Our operational services are available in just three to five days and enable a quick start without requiring extensive IT resources. This option does not require the operation of a dedicated software instance and does not cover the transmission of declarations of due diligence to TRACES. It is ideal for companies for which an individually operated system is not cost-effective.

PwC's ManualConnect is available within two weeks and is ideal for companies with few EUDR-relevant products and transactions that can be uploaded manually via an Excel template. The service model offers a flexible, easy-to-implement solution that does not require API integration and is optimally tailored to the individual needs of companies with lower transaction volumes.

PwC's StandardAPI is ideal for companies with homogeneous IT landscapes for standard API integration. It allows us to seamlessly integrate your ERP system into our "Check Your Value Chain" software within just three weeks. You benefit from an efficiently integrated data flow that supports your business processes without increasing the complexity of your IT landscape.

PwC's CustomisedAPI is the right solution for companies with heterogeneous IT landscapes that require advanced API integration. While ERP integration takes around three months due to individual customisations, we can bridge this period with manual uploads. This option offers maximum flexibility for companies that want specific integrations without compromising on efficiency.

The implementation timeframe may vary per customer and depends on factors such as supply chain complexity, data quality and IT infrastructure. The timeframes provided take these aspects into account.
