Our mission statement

AI and mobile computing are focal points for technology, both today and for the future. As predicted by Mark Weiser – pioneering computer scientist and inventor of ubiquitous computing – these two technologies are fundamentally changing how we live and work.

In line with PwC’s stated purpose of solving important problems, our team is dedicated to using AI and mobile technology to solve major issues in society. We are working on the mobility revolution, we are designing solutions for modern, liveable cities, and we are ensuring that events involving large crowds can be held without incident. What motivates us is the will to improve lives in our society with smart technology.

“The most profound technologies are those that disappear. They weave themselves into the fabric of everyday life until they are indistinguishable from it.”

Mark Weiser,computer science pioneer

Mobility Platform

PwC’s Mobility Platform is tailored to the needs of public transport operators, mobility providers and transport authorities. This solution enables you to conduct holistic analysis of mobility habits and influence how people move around.

The platform features an integrated Mobility Analysis Engine, allowing you to see exactly how people move around – whether on foot, or by car, bike, bus, train, tram, ferry or underground rail. This means that you can carry out comprehensive, end-to-end (or rather: door-to-door) analysis of residents’ mobility habits. As well as measuring flows of people and identifying particularly busy routes, this data also allows analysis of interchange habits between routes and means of transport – providing valuable insights to help optimise your processes and plan infrastructure improvements and services.

The platform also includes intelligent messaging technology – this provides passengers with customised information, warnings and notices based on their current location. This ensures end-to-end customer satisfaction, even if disruption occurs. Feel free to contact us to find out how messaging technology can add value to your operations.

And it goes without saying that you can combine the Mobility Platform with our Operations Management module to manage rapid response personnel, customer service agents and maintenance staff.

Crowd Management Platform

PwC’s Crowd Management Platform is geared towards the needs of event organisers and operators of venues, meeting all the needs of modern crowd management.

One of the platform’s most important features is intelligent people flow analysis, which provides efficient analysis of the density, direction and speed of crowds. This enables you to analyse and evaluate arrival and departure routes, the usage of the available infrastructure, and potential problems (e.g. dangerously overcrowded areas) in real time. You can also use this data to evaluate and optimise the performance of merchandise stalls or other infrastructure.

The platform’s intelligent messaging technology allows you to send targeted messages to selected locations. Let’s say an entrance gate has become overcrowded: you can use the messaging system to tell visitors heading for this gate that a less busy alternative is available, redirecting the flow of people. This is just one example: the possibilities offered by this technology are endless. Feel free to contact us to find out how messaging technology can add value to your operations.

And it goes without saying that you can combine the Crowd Management Platform with our Operations Management module to manage rapid response personnel.

Smart City Platform

PwC’s Smart City Platform is a platform solution designed to meet the needs of public authorities at municipality, city and state level. It provides you with a quick, scalable way into the world of smart cities. Although flexible IoT interfaces can be used to integrate almost any type of sensor technology, there are many use cases that can be implemented without any additional hardware at all.

At the macro level, the platform’s Mobility Analysis Engine allows you to see exactly how people move around – whether on foot, or by car, bike bus, train, tram, ferry or underground rail. This means that you can carry out comprehensive, end-to-end (or rather: door-to-door) analysis of residents’ mobility habits. The insights gained in this way can be used to help optimise your processes and plan infrastructure improvements and services.

At the micro level, the platform includes intelligent people flow analysis, which provides efficient analysis of the density, direction and speed of crowds. This enables you to gain insights into crowd behaviour in particularly busy areas or during large public events, in turn helping to avoid potentially dangerous situations. Based on this data, you can also assess the performance of relevant infrastructure and plan improvements.

On top of this, the Smart City Platform offers intelligent messaging technology, allowing information, warnings and notices to be sent to app users based on their current location. These might include warnings about pickpockets entering fairs, information about traffic disruption, or targeted police messages that only affect a certain area (e.g. calls for witnesses after a burglary). Other potential applications include innovative public services, such as notices about roadworks being sent to affected residents, or intelligent surveys on urban development plans being sent to app users when they enter the area. These are just a few examples: the possibilities offered by this technology are endless. Feel free to contact us to find out how messaging technology can add value to your operations.

And it goes without saying that you can combine the Smart City Platform with our Operations Management module to manage rapid response personnel or other mobile assets.

Operations Management Platform

Operations Management is an efficient tool for managing your mobile personnel or mobile objects, such as vehicles – we refer to both categories as “assets”. The system consists of two complementary elements.

The observation part of the system provides you with a real-time view of where each asset is. To help with decision-making, assets can be differentiated according to their type and the team they belong to, and are displayed on the system’s integrated map. For example, this allows you to find out which member of your rapid response team is closest to the scene of an accident – simply by checking the map.

The communication side of the system allows assets to be efficiently directed. Messages or notices can be targeted based on the identity of assets, their type, or the team they belong to. Messages can also be restricted to specific geographical areas – for example, you can choose to send a notification to all vehicles within in a particular district. Likewise, mobile personnel can be provided with job information as soon as they reach their destination. Conversely, assets can also send in reports: these can be simple status updates, text messages, images (e.g. to provide an update from the scene of an accident) or alarms generated by sensors. Like the assets themselves, reports are displayed on the map.

Whether you only need to manage a small fleet of vehicles, or hundreds of mobile personnel in the field: PwC’s Operations Management system is a versatile and efficient tool to help you. Feel free to contact us to find out how messaging technology can add value to your operations.

Our philosophy: focus on the big picture

To solve complex, multi-layered problems as efficiently as possible, they must always be viewed as a whole and approached from multiple angles. This is why our products are never just individual solutions: we always design them as integrated platforms which continuously improve the issue they focus on. Our solutions consider every step in a process – from acquiring the data, through evaluating it to find potential improvements, right up to actually making improvements.

Focus on data security and privacy

We firmly believe that modern, data-driven systems can only succeed in the long term if data security and privacy are at the heart of the system design process. Because of this, all our solutions are fully GDPR-compliant and are operated exclusively from data centres within the EU – in strict compliance with our own guidelines, which in some cases go significantly further than the law requires. As a client, you always retain sole ownership of the data you provide, and data from end users is never processed without their explicit consent – it goes without saying that we provide comprehensive, easily understandable information about how we use this data. Because when we deal with transparency, compromise is not an option.

Tailor-made solutions

Our greatest aim is for our solutions to provide you with maximum benefits – at all levels. This is why we complement our groundbreaking technology with top-notch advisory services to ensure that each and every one of our products can realise its full potential. If you’re in search of a reliable, dependable partner in digital transformation – look no further. Contact us today and discover how we can help you.
